i am obsessed with feather's. feather's in your hair, feather jewelery, feather earrings, feather clothing, feather keychains.....you name it. if it has a feather on it, i will buy it.

Meet our Designer: Cindy Chung

 We are so lucky to have the FABULOUS Cindy Chung as our designer. She designs each and every piece from our collections and makes it flirty, fresh and fierce each time ;) I know your dying to get to know her! So, I did a little Q & A..........

Where did you study Fashion Design? I worked in the industry for a year and then I went to The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles to fine tune.

 

What inspired you to be a designer? My grandpa was an amazing painter and as a kid I used to watch him paint in the backyard so I was always around art . I've always loved clothing and my mom was and still is a huge shopper so going into fashion was kind of a natural progression for me.

 

How would you describe your personal style? I'm very drawn to clothing that are a bit off-kilter and I like to pair it with something super comfortable and simple. I like the balance that comes out of unexpected pairings. I also love mixing vintage (particularly 70's era) with whats current...I love a fresh take on something reminiscently old.

 

Who is on your celeb “wish list” to see wearing Lucca? I think kate bosworth has great personal style, I think it'd be very fun to see how she'd wear a Lucca ensemble. I also love Olivia Palermo's style, she's always so well put together, I'm sure she could throw on any Lucca item and make it look classic! Most importantly, I love spotting girls on the street in Lucca, I still freak out everytime!

 

If you could only shop at one store for the rest of your life, what would it be/why? I shop everywhere, I don't discriminate!

 

What are some big trends we should look for this fall 2011? For fall 2011, I drew a lot of inspiration from the 70s era. Maxi lengths are so beautiful and easier to wear than everyone might think! Deep, rich, gorgeous jewel tones are back, which is a nice little stray from the metallics of last fall, but don't fret, we're blinging it out again come holiday 2011!

 

Any trends that we should eliminate from our wardrobes forever, and why? I have to admit, I'm a clothes hoarder! I don't like to get rid of my clothes, even if I know I'm not going to wear it again! But if I had to choose one- and kindergartners don't hate me!-I'd say overalls (which I've seen trying to make a come back!) not. cute. I think a romper is a great alternative, chic and current.

 

Do you take any inspiration from any celeb’s personal style or do they not affect you? I love to celeb-watch! They have VIP access to the most amazing, desirable fashions from all around the world, it's definitely inspiring! I love how Rihanna dresses, it's very eclectic and true to herself..I'd love to sift through her closet!

 

What is something you think sets Lucca apart from the other brands? We love color, print and yummy textures and it's definitely something that we pay special attention to in every garment. Making clothes is not a job for us but a passion and our goal is to instill a bit of passion in every item that we produce.

 

Who is your style icon? I think it's too hard to name just one! I embrace confidence, courage and uniqueness!
